This species was previously identified as Sobralia undatocarinta var. chica, but was recently distinguished as a new species by Dr. Robert Dressler, published in the American Orchid Society's Orchids magazine.
It is a dwarf-growing variety of sobralia, with showy white flowers and purple painted lips, which last for up to 9 days. Grow intermediate, with moderately bright-bright light, evenly moist.
